art

 Leonard -Tsuguharu Fujita (1886-1968)

The first time I saw his painting was in my art class in high school.

His painting was extremely different from those of other Japanese artists. His touch appears to have elements of both western and  oriental art.

He is the most successful Japanese artist who settled in Paris after WW1.

He became a sensation because of his unique touch, using  black Japanese sumi ink outline in combination with a smooth milky-white background.

This is my favolate painting of Fujita, Le café.
